BAPTISMS: Please contact the parish office three weeks prior to the date of baptism. Baptisms take place the last Sunday of the month. The fourth Thursday of the month before the day of Baptism, there is mandatory class for baptizing parents and god parents which which begins with mass at 7:30 p.m. in the Church.
BAPTISM REQUIREMENTS FOR CHILDREN UNDER 5.5 YEARS OF AGE:
A. Proof of Birth Certificate (original) Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the rectory. A fee of $50.00.
B. Register one month prior to the date of Baptism;
C. Choose godparents who are of legal age (18 years ), who are practicing Catholics- have received the Sacraments of Baptism, communion and Confirmation;
D Parents who are not members of this Parish, who reside outside the perimemters of the Chrurch of St. Angela Merici/or belong to another parish, must get a letter of permission from their pastor to baptize in this Parish.
E. We enourage god parents to be present with parents\guardians during baptism celebration.
F. Both parents and godparents are to attend the Cathechesis (Preparation for Baptism Class) the Thursday before the Baptism Sunday @ 7:30 p.m. in the Chruch. This class is mandatory;
NB: BAPTISMAL CEREMONY WILL TAKE PLACE:
For Spanish speaking - 12:00p.m on the last Sunday of the month
For English speaking 2:00p.m. on the last Sunday of the month.
MARRIAGES: Arrangements must be made through the parish office at least six months in advance of the desired date of the wedding. Please speak with a priest in the parish to organize with him marriage preparation details.
WE PRAY FOR: Alumni, Benefactors and Friends, our newly baptized, His Eminence Timothy Michael Cardinal Dolan, Apostles of Jesus Missionary Priests and Brothers, our Teachers, Parish Catechists, for vocations to the Priesthood and religious Life and all the Sick and home bound of our Parish.
ANOINTING OF THE SICKThe sacrament of Anointing is available for anyone seriously ill or one in advanced age. Please contact the parish for a priest to come to your home to celebrate this Sacrament.
VISITING THE SICK
The Holy Eucharist will be brought to any parishioner ill, or confined at home. The family is asked to contact the Rectory by calling telephone number (718) 293-0984.
DAILY MASS
There is daily mass at 1.00p.m. Monday through Friday.
WEEKEND MASS SCHEDULES.SATURDAY: Mass in English every Saturday at 5:30 p.m. and Mass in Spanish at 7.30 p.m.
SUNDAY: There is Mass in English at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass in Spanish at 11:00 a.m.
IGBO: There is Igbo Mass celebrated every Second and Fourth Sunday of every month beginning from 5:30p.m.
CONFESSIONS.
Confession takes place every Saturday in the Church beginning from 4:00p.m. - 5.00p.m. or any day by calling the rectory office at 718-293-0984
